Our yard sale last week.  We didn't make much money but we got rid of a surprising amount of stuff.  Lily must have been inspired by the cleaning out because this past weekend she declared that she wanted to get rid of even more.  Some of her toys are in such good condition that we're hoping to get some money for them on ebay.... we'll see!

Jason got such a kick out of my charcoal mask last night while Matt and Lily went to see Avengers.  I thought he might be freaked out but instead he was delighted!


After Paris, our April has really consisted of plain old hanging out and it's been glorious.  I had a slow month at work, which is especially welcome given how busy May will be as we inch closer and closer to GDPR going live on May 25th.  Last week was the yoga retreat in Costa Rica that I had to pull out of due to Zika.  I was feeling a little down at the missed opportunity so I cleared my schedule tomorrow for some R&R at Burke Williams. Oh, and we had a really nice visit with my cousin Andrea this past weekend (she was in town for work). Amidst all that, I've made it to 19 weeks with our 3rd slider!  I can't believe we're nearing the mid-mark of the pregnancy.

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? There have been a ton of tips out there about working from home.  Having given my share  already , I didn’t really read anything that I wasn’t already generally aware of and for the first month of quarantine it was pretty much business as usual for me. All that changed until almost 3 weeks ago when Matt reentered the corporate world.  His desk in the cave wasn’t going to work anymore.  With COVID-19, the kids are all home all day except for a brief walk or two and they need that space to play.  Plus, even if we could get them to stay out of the cave, he would still hear them ...

Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
