February has gone by at a record pace! Work continues to be busy for Matt and I, and having 2 kids continues to keep us busy when we're not working. But I have to say, life is pretty darn good right now. Jason is almost sleeping through the night (he usually wakes up once between 4-5) which makes a huge difference! And he's also starting to mimic our words and sounds, which is so sweet. He can kind of mimic "hello," "love you," "oh well" and "lily" when you repeat those words to him. He even mimics the exact tone that you use to say the words to him. Matt has some pretty cute videos, if I can figure out how the post them...

| Sleep smiles. |
| Laughing! He still only lets out true laughs every once in a while but it's so sweet. |
| Jason's 2nd trip to Disneyland on the 13th. Lily was stoked that she got to sit on the front of the Storybookland boat. |
| We hit up California Adventure too. Jason was a dream all day. |
| Goofing off in the photo corner of Lily's class after her class' 2nd Poemfest. It's such a cool thing that her teacher does. The kids seem to really enjoy learning and reciting poetry. Jason started off a bit rowdy but fell asleep right before the poems began... phew! |
| A caricature of Jason by Lily. |
| Selfie at Lily's 1st Reconciliation. She forgot what she was supposed to do and claimed that her religious ed teacher never told her what to do in the first place. I have a feeling she just wasn't listening. |
| Getting ready to talk to the priest. She said it was "fine" and was more concerned with whether she could have 3 donut holes (not 1; not 2; three!) afterward. |
| Looking skeptical in the morning. |
| Trying on my wedding dress, which I almost forgot I still had. |
| The biggest smiles the other day. |
| Getting his tummy time in. |
| Having fun under his play gym. |
| Getting some love from big sister. |
| And more love before the daddy-daughter dance on Friday. Matt said Lily had a blast though she was literally the only girl that chose not to dress up in line with the Western theme. She marches to the beat of her own drum for sure! |
| At Benihana on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. We had so much fun and Lily shocked us by eating everything on her plate. It turns out all you have to do is drench everything in garlic butter and she's good to go. |
| Team pow-wow before her first softball game yesterday. Due to the rain, the girls hadn't even had a practice yet. Some of the girls played last year so they understand the game, but Lil is among the newbies who have no idea what's going on. Twice the ball came straight to her and she just stood there as it rolled past. To be fair, no one explained the rules to her so I think she was under the impression that the fielders just stand there while the pitcher and catcher do all the work. |
| She was so nervous at bat that her legs were shaking and the coach had to go up and help her move back off the plate. I think she'll be great once she can conquer the nerves because she's been great when I practice with her. She has a strong arm and good swing. The good news is that she said she had a lot of fun... which is good because softball is about to take over our lives. She has 1 practice and 2 games a week for the next 3 months. Luckily many of them are within walking distance of our house. |
| Jason was quite popular with the parents and kids in the stand. He gave Grandma Judy & Grandpa Tom some big smiles. |
| Lily has declared that we have a family of 6 due to Gilly the beta fish and Ruby the triop (see far left of the tank). There were supposed to be dozens of triops (they are sort of like sea monkeys) but only one survived Lily's total inability to follow directions for harvesting their eggs. |
