Gray May & June Gloom

We've had nothing but overcast skies & fog for the past month or so but it looks like we might finally be coming out of Gray May & June Gloom!  Lily's last day of school is a week from today and then we'll be in full Summer swing.  Lil will be back in her usual all-day camp (this is her last year before she ages out) and I'm hoping that work slows down a little bit for the Summer so I can get to some home improvement projects that have alluded me so far.  We've been in the house for 3 years now and there's still a handful of things that I haven't gotten around to.

Lil and I took a trip to Disneyland after school a few weeks ago.  We'll probably only make it one more time before we take a break for the Summer due to the crowds and heat.  It was already SO crowded that we only made it on a few rides before we called it a night and went home.

Lil was so proud that her Goldiblocks dunk tank toy worked.  She built it all by herself!

Fiesta Hermosa strikes again!  This has become one of my favorite Hermosa traditions- every Labor Day and Memorial Day we eat the worst/best fair food, Lil does the rides & I manage to pick up a 1 or 2 (or 4!) necklaces from local jewelers.

Lil declared a lunch at Panera Bread as my "best idea ever."

Showing off her "my body" project at her school's open house night.

This was my favorite of her assignments on display.  It melted my heart that she wrote she loves her hands because it makes her feel happy to hold my hand with them.

Celebrating Matt's 35th birthday with some flourless chocolate cake from Fritto Misto.  Lily proudly re-gifted one of her toy Game of Thrones dragons to Matt.

I attended the Direct Selling Association's annual meeting in Phoenix last week and got a kick out of this vendor's display.  I'm pretty sure this is an IP infringement that HBO would shut down in a hot minute (or is it fair use?  IP legal friends, discuss amongst yourselves...) but that didn't stop me from living out my fantasy of sitting on the Iron (er, foam-board) Throne.

I brought home a ton of vendor freebies for Lil, including these play glasses that she really liked.  She even wore them to school the next day as a joke but first told me "You know I actually look pretty good in these."  Modesty might be a virtue but it's not an inherent one!
