Our 70* Winter Wonderland

Lils has been taking her clothes off before she falls asleep.  This is the only photo that was suitable for posting.  :)

The church shipped in real snow for the winter fair last week.  It melted pretty quickly since it was 70*!

Lily played many fair games.

She didn't win this one but got a prize anyway.

So excited to get to Disney on Ice yesterday!  She held onto her ticket so tightly.

She enjoyed some candy at the intermission. Lils had such a blast with her friends at the show.
With Judy at home after her surgery (as of yesterday) and Christmas getting closer, things are looking up!  Lily had a great time at Disney on Ice yesterday.  She clapped and danced almost the entire time and even remembered having been to Staples Center for the circus (as we were walking to the suite she said "Circus!"... she definitely has my memory).  She's been doing so well at school (the teachers say she's friends with everyone and very into giving hugs lately) except for the fire drills they've been having, which have scared the entire class into thinking that a fire drill can happen at any time, any place.  I'm going to post a video of her at Disney on Ice below and then start posting Lily's Christmas portraits.  Then Lils and I are going to build a gingerbread house!

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? There have been a ton of tips out there about working from home.  Having given my share  already , I didn’t really read anything that I wasn’t already generally aware of and for the first month of quarantine it was pretty much business as usual for me. Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
