Morning Routine

She's finally big enough for the adorable outfit cousins Cindy,  Pancho, Gabriel and Ayden gave her.  My favorite part are the matching hair clips!
Lils spends her mornings cooking fake meals with her fake food and trying on my shoes.  Our mornings are about to change once again because as a few of you know, I will be switching jobs soon.  My last day at my current gig is this Friday and next week I join the in-house legal department of a certain wellness & nutrition company that my dear husband also works for.  

It's exciting but throws a wrench in our current situation where Lily spends her days with Grandma Judy & Grandpa Tom.  I'll be working downtown so it just won't be possible for me to drop Lily in Tarzana every morning like I do now.  We're looking for daycare centers so I'll keep you all posted.  :)

    Love seeing that cute outfit on Lily! She totally pulls off those colors! :) Congrats on the new job! How great to be a part of the family business! So sorry that you won't be able to take Lily to her grandparents house, hope you guys find the next best place. :)

    Thanks Cindy! I'm really excited about the new work opportunity but daycare is going to be difficult. There are almost no certified, nice and clean centers in LA. Everyone seems to hire nannies, which I would really like to avoid because it's so expensive. Ugh. We're lucky because my Mom is going to come down to our apt. to watch Lily until we find a place. Hope all is well with you guys!

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
