The 'bu

So our second attempt at visiting the Getty Center was also thwarted!  The traffic to get into the parking lot was backed up onto the 405 off-ramp so we had a feeling it was going to be overcrowded.  It took us 20 minutes just to get off the freeway so we called the Getty Center and were somewhat rudely informed that this is the busiest week of the year.  So again we traded in culture for a more laid-back activity.  This time, we hit up Duke's for lunch and then took Lily to a nearby park in Malibu.
Lily in front of her wall hangings that Grandma Kathy made her for Christmas.

Lily wants her ears pierced like Aunt Kim!

Playing at the park.  One of the little boys there yelled "Pretend the baby is the monster and she's going to get you!"

One of the other boys said "What baby?" and the first boy responded "The girl baby."

So all afternoon, we've been calling Lily the Girl Baby Monster.

Words cannot describe how much fun Lily had at the park.

She definitely got her climb on.

And another little girl came up to her in the tunnel, hugged her, and said "Hi baby."

Lily made a run for it, relishing the good weather after our week or so of torrential rain before Christmas.

I love this sweater because it shows off her round little belly.

Being kind of a neat-freak, I'm not such a fan of the sandbox but I can't deny her such a wonderful pleasure.  She could have sat there all day.

Lily had no interest in this thing until she saw Aunt Kim hang on it; then she had to give it a try!
We had such a good day in the sunshine!  Now Lily is eating her dinner but feeding Aunt Kim all of the chicken. There's a definite pattern there:  pineapple & french fries are kept for herself but the chicken is offered up to Aunt Kim... or Meem, as Lily has called her.  She said Kim once but has refused to say it again, instead laughing every time we say "Kim."

I'm back to work tomorrow and Thursday so Kim is going to chill with some of her L.A. friends while Lily gets back into her routine with Grandma during the day.  I REALLY don't want to go back to work tomorrow.
