I heard Stop for a Minute by Keane on the radio yesterday morning and haven't been able to get it out of my head since then. An undercurrent of sadness has been our status quo since we got the news about Lara but this song reminds me that being sad together is way better than being sad alone. Lara's Celebration of Life was really beautiful (full of laughs and sobs, often at the same time) but we kept expecting her to pop out and yell "just kidding!" and when she didn't... it sucked... and continues to suck. View of LA from the Hollywood Hills. Part of our company-wide legal summit last week was an open-air ride through Hollywood. My office building is connected to the building that is reflecting the sun. Our tour passed the Chateau Marmont. Normally I wouldn't care that much but we just watched Sofia Coppola's newish movie "Somewhere" last week so it seemed like I should take a picture. Lily in Grandpa Marc & Grandma Kathy's...
Ever since I've given birth, I've been meaning to post my hospital bag list. With Andrea in her 37th week, I figured I better do it before it becomes moot to her. :) Things I Brought that Really Came in Handy: For the Baby 1. Receiving Blanket 2. Onesie and Going Home Outfit For Myself- 3. 2 Night Gowns (Saturday night, while I was in labor, I was in hospital gowns and stayed in them for the rest of Sunday; I only switched into the cotton gowns I brought with me for Sunday night and Monday night) 4. 3 Nursing Bras (I wore one through labor and for the rest of my time in the hospital) 5. 5 pairs of white cotton undies in a size larger than I usually wear 6. After Ryan's marathon bachelor party last night, Matt decided to balance out the weekend with a trip to Skokie to visit Rita and Larry. It's been far too long since we've seen them last (the birthday/baby shower bacchanal of Memorial Day weekend) and we had a great night. In addition to delicious barbecue chicken, Rita gave me a back rub and Larry and I tried to make sense of the first 20 minutes of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome . After dinner, we headed to Jewel where Matt and I played the game "What's bigger- a watermelon or my belly?" My self esteem was greatly boosted by the watermelon's victory. And finally, meet the newest edition to Baby G's nursery. Great-Grandma Rita & Great-Grandpa Larry couldn't resist this cute doll and neither can I!
