Ducks!

This is the 3rd time we've had ducklings hatch in our backyard. But the prior two times, we've been aware that there was a nest in our backyard. We'd seen two adult ducks in our pool recently but we hadn't seen a nest or nesting behavior on their part. So we were quite surprised on Sunday when we spotted 4 baby ducks and their mama in the pool.

Lily was entranced by the ducks and got very excited when they'd swim our way. Unfortunately, their stay in our yard was short-lived because ducklings separate from their mother after just one day. After a day of learning how to swim, forage for moss and bugs and hop out of the pool, their mama led them out of the pool, around the house to the front yard and beyond. My parents tried to check up on the ducklings a few hours later but they were no where to be seen. :( In my head, they're now residing at the golf club pool nearby.
