After a few weeks of making Lily various fruit and vegetable purees, we gave her some broccoli florets to play with. Although Lily puts every toy she ever comes across in her mouth, not a single spear of broccoli made it in there. But as you can see, she had tons of fun.sa



And she sure cleaned up nicely afterward!


We had dinner with Andrea and Grant and Caroline the other night. They are all doing well and Caroline is growing so fast! She's so alert now and really loved Matt.
Lily has had a big week- she's Baby of the Week! We brought in lots of pictures to post on the bulletin board for all of the other babies to admire.

Today was my last day of actively going into the office. It feels strange but good to be able to focus on moving now. We still have a lot to do before Lily and I head for sunny L.A. on the 14th. Matt will stay a few days after that in order to pack up and coordinate the move but I'm hoping not to leave him with too much to do on his own. It should be a weekend full of brown boxes and packing tape. :)

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
