The weather complied for once and my parents were able to land in Chicago without delay on Friday night. We've had a lot of relaxing play time with Lily and made it out to dinner with Mark, Janet, Allison, Nicholas & Jacqueline last night. Tonight, we had a romantic Valentine's dinner for 5 at a local pub and now we're watching the NBA All Star game. Actually, Matt and I associate the All Star game with Valentine's Day so it feels like our usual routine. Of course, this year we've got our little Valentine to keep us company.
Lily has had a big weekend because in addition to a visit from Grandma Judy and Grandpa Tom, she tried "solid" food for the first time. We gave her some organic rice cereal mixed with breast milk. She barely spit any out and seemed to get the hang of eating right away. For those of you who have broken bread with Matt or my brother, this should come as no surprise. Lily made us very proud and put on a nice show for my parents and Grandma Kathy, who was watching via video chat. She did even better today and finished every last bit!
Lily and Mommy, reunited at daycare on Wednesday evening.
