Changing Lily's diaper on her changing pad cracks me up because she used to barely take up 3/4 of it. Now she's overflowing! She was in such a happy mood this morning and was smiling from the moment she opened her eyes. A lot of babies in her class seem to dislike the changing table but Lily loves it because she's so used to getting belly kisses and attention while she's being changed.
She loves it when Matt holds her up high. I think she gets a kick out being taller than everyone else for a change.
She still thinks Matt is the funniest person ever and was giving real belly laughs this morning.
When we dropped her off at daycare this morning, we saw that they had made a wall of Valentines. Lily's class is hanging in the center of this photo and she's the bottom-most photo.
She was in good spirits this morning and seemed tired so we're hoping she took a morning nap for her teachers. When Matt picked her up last night, he found Lily with a scratch on her face from playing with another little girl in her class; those baby fingernails are razor-sharp! The teacher said that Lily actually laughed when it happened because she was so happy that one of the bigger babies was giving her attention! Another baby learned to walk yesterday so I think Lily is going to be really anxious to get mobile so she can keep up with everyone. :)

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? There have been a ton of tips out there about working from home.  Having given my share  already , I didn’t really read anything that I wasn’t already generally aware of and for the first month of quarantine it was pretty much business as usual for me. Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
