Looking surprised in her high chair last night. She was so funny at dinner. We were all having a nice conversation and every time there was a gap, Lily would contribute a coo or gurgle of her own. She thinks she can talk already!
Sleeping in the car on our way home from our second portrait fiasco. This time, we tried to get Lily's photo taken with Santa at the Topanga Canyon mall. We had her in little jeans, her red sweater and pink boots and thought she looked cute but when we got to the mall, she seemed underdressed for the occasion. We got there at 2 and Lily was in a great mood but Santa was on a break and by the time he got back Lily was just so-so. She didn't cry on Santa's lap but she didn't smile either. We decided to feed her and then try again in a little later so while I fed her, my Mom looked for a dress to change her into. We found a cute dress at BabyGap but after we changed her into the dress (and corresponding red patent leather shoes), Santa's camera broke and we couldn't do a re-shoot.
So we walked to the other end of the mall to the Picture People who had their own Santa. We were going to have Lily's portrait taken and her photo with Santa taken but by the time they got their act together Lily was crying and fussing and we decided to just skip the photo shoot altogether.
Of course, as soon as we changed her out of her dress and into her stretchie, she was all smiles and coos! So we didn't get any professional santa photos taken but my Mom was able to take a few with her camera of Lily with the first santa.
Tonight we all went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was really good and I enjoyed a margarita for the first time since before I was pregnant. If I wasn't nursing, I would have enjoyed a few more!
We learned today that we did indeed get into our first choice for daycare, starting in February so it looks like that situation is working out.
Tomorrow is our last day in LA before we head up North. :)
