Lily's big day went very well! She fussed a bit at the beginning, but fell asleep as soon as we sat in our seats. She was baptized with 4 other babies and they seemed to take turns crying throughout the ceremony.

Father Jack Wall performed the rite. He had some really beautiful things to say about parenthood and raising children.
Jess read the Prayer of the Faithful and Travis carried the baptismal water from the font at the back to the front of the church.

Lily very briefly woke up during her actual baptism but she went back to sleep without a peep.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a better photo than this of all 5 of us.
Lily looked so sweet in her gown. We didn't get any full body shots of her so my Mom and I are going to put her in her gown and take some more photos later this week.
Allison and Jackie at the ceremony.
Lily at the party with her godparents, Travis & Jess. The food at Wishbone was great, as always, and I was really impressed with the service too. Everyone's glasses were kept full and there was more than enough food.
Every party has a pooper and Lily was pooped.
The staff at Wishone were very impressed with the cake. The pastry chef even came out of the kitchen to admire my work!
Jackie, Mark, Uncle Richard, Uncle Jimmy (hidden behind Mark), Grandpa Larry and Grandma Rita (who head for Walnut Creek this Thursday), Allison (who did great at her recital yesterday), Aunt Cathy, Janet and Nicholas (who got his provisional blue belt in karate yesterday and has been rocking some truly awesome movie-star hair lately).

Mike, Grant and Andrea, Mom and Dad, Sarah and Mike.
Matt, Susan & Greg (who are newly engaged!), Jade and Ryan, Jess and Travis.

Throwing this party felt exactly like our wedding- there was so much planning and then it was over way too soon. We had such a great time; it's so rare that we get to have our closest family and friends all in one room together. Aunt Cathy & Uncle Richard are staying through Thanksgiving so we'll be seeing more of them this week. Unfortunately, Uncle Jimmy has to head home tomorrow and my Dad had to leave today (Brian couldn't get away from work for the holiday so the Zimmers are splitting up for turkey day).

The rest of the week will be spent preparing for Thanksgiving. I'm making my usual scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin-mascarpone pie and Judy is making cheesecake and key lime pie. We've got extra fondant so we were thinking of making a turkey design to put on the pumpkin pie.
