I can't write too much now because my Mom and I are about to start making Lily's hamburger costume. She'll be trick or treating with her cousins in Winnetka tomorrow. Grandma Judy got into town on Wednesday and Lily has been spending lots of time reading and cuddling with Grandma. She smiled at her right away so I think she remembers all of her Grandma time from the first month of her life.




Lily's first time in the Bumbo Seat. She wasn't sure what to think about this whole sitting up thing!







She loves to look at herself in the mirror. I've started telling her the baby in the mirror is her evil twin, Jillian. I'm sure I'll be getting her therapy bills 20 years from now...




The pumpkin hat was cute but definitely not worth the crying fit that continued for 15 minutes after I took the hat off. She needed to make sure that I understood how much she hated that hat.




I just picked up these window crayons yesterday and had to try them out. I think Lily and I are going to have lots of fun with these!

    Love the hat story and that is just the beginning of the many times she will have to let you know just how unhappy mom can make her!!! LOL...

Holy smokes, I haven’t blogged since our November vacay to French Polynesia!!!!  I knew it had been a while but didn’t realize how far off the blagon I was! So much has happened in the past 2 months for us all & it feels a bit silly to blog about anything but at the same time, we all probably benefit from a little distraction, right? There have been a ton of tips out there about working from home.  Having given my share  already , I didn’t really read anything that I wasn’t already generally aware of and for the first month of quarantine it was pretty much business as usual for me. Good gods, it's been so long I almost don't know where to start!  Despite 2020 being 2020, we still had a really nice end to the year.  That period from Halloween to Christmas is always my favorite and still felt special even though we didn't get to do some of our traditions like the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Pier. In some ways I'm actually finding 2021 to be rougher than 2020.  We've turned the page on the year but in LA we haven't really turned the page on the pandemic yet.  As of a few days ago we were still hovering above the 15% ICU bed availability so it's hard to feel a sense of progress, even as so many other places seem to be on a path to normalcy.  We're also in the midst of our umpteenth COVID scare of the past year with our umpteenth suite of negative test results to match.  I don't understand how it's possible for our family to get so many colds when we barely leave the house. Gettin' Back in Shape

After losing most of my Jason-weight pretty quickly, I've stalled hard the past few months.  I don't have any excuses but I have a ton of reasons: I really enjoy having wine with dinner most nights. I really enjoy having something sweet after dinner most nights. I really don't enjoy running or any sort of cardio-aerobic activity. I really hate counting calories or keeping a food journal. I seem to always have morning calls, which cause me to miss the exercise class that I like the best.  Every time I got into a rhythm, I would get interrupted with another project that requires morning calls. I can lose weight pretty easily when I actually get my butt in gear so I never feel a sense of urgency about it. I was still nursing and hungry all the time. I could go on & on b ut after weaning Jason about a month ago, I lost that last one.  Since then, I started working out with a trainer every Tuesday afternoon & going to her group class every Friday morning.
